Malecon Restaurant

On of my "besties" and a native son of the Upper West Side came to Manhattan to see his family from California where he has softened in a hardened way by getting heavily into competitive and paddling races and general beach activities.

We got to spend tonight cruising the UWS for an "ethnic gastro experience" to hang and catch up. We found that at Malecon Restaurant at 98th and Amsterdam. This Cuban restaurant is over 20 years old and you can tell it is a local fave. The greeter man works hard for the money and was so excellent. We gorged on yucca and roast chicken and goat and green plantain with garlic. And started with excellent avocado salad. What a meal.

Great to see Greg as always. We just are kindred! How funny the West Coast Boy goes East and the East Coast Boy goes West. Balance.

The remarkable Greg with his coffee and cake!

We finished with this AMAZING cafe con leche and tres leches cake. WOW! I want to start dating just so I can go here again.
