Hedrick Hall Goes Manhattan

My college roommate from UCLA whom I had not laid eyes on or been in contact with since 1984 came up to me in New York City and said, "I KNEW it was YOU!" I did not recognize him only because he was out of context (25 years and 3000 miles out of context!).

He was my first college roommate. He moved out after a semester I think so he could live in a house in Malibu with a piano. He was right before my other roommate who tried to kill himself shortly after he moved in and then became a model.

Wow, there is NO hiding in New York City. Not that I needed to hide from him, but it was just so random and unexpected and flashbacky and headtrippy. Not in a bad way at all, but in a way I cannot process yet.

He seemed to remember me as this A student. I don't remember myself that way. I would like to hear more!

It was quick. He came he left. We will see each other again here. New York City is that way.

I like to think of you at 18 wearing a sorting hat at UCLA that put you in Hedrick Hall. That's a totally Harry Potter name.
